Fellow students of God's Word, welcome! FreeMyPeople has a new
look and a new direction, and I hope that you will enjoy it.
What does "FreeMyPeople" mean? Consider these verses from I
Corinthians 3:
6He
has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the
letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit
gives life.
17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the
Lord is, there is freedom.
The new covenant spoken of in I
Corinthians is alive and well today! My idea for FreeMyPeople
is to open a forum and discuss, among other things, what it means to
have freedom in Christ.
There are Christians who follow the
letter of the law to the point of excluding freedom and grace.
Following the letter of the law most often manifests itself in
legalism and condemnation. Conversely, permissiveness and
liberalism can throw out the law completely and standards of
holiness are forgotten. For Christians to be salt and light in
this world, we have to stay out of these ditches on the sides of the
straight and narrow path.
Also, there are several issues that I
want to discuss here simply because they aren't typically addressed
in church, but I believe they are important to Christians.
I've placed search tools on the site
that should be helpful in reading these articles, namely a Bible
search and a dictionary search. I welcome your input on any of
these topics, and that is why I've left a place for your comments at
the end of each article.
Thanks for coming! |
